Three of Moths

THREE OF MOTHS
A heartbroken person sits crying alone on a porch swing. Darkness has come. The only remaining light comes from the bug zapper hanging above, where three moths hover dangerously close to losing their lives. Upright, this card reflects on a period of your life where you may experiencing heartache, betrayal, or a painful separation. You may be facing this period in your life right now, or there may be red flags that it’s on its way. This could be the end of a broken relationship, or the loss of a friendship. It may too be the result of a difficult decision made in the Two of Moths. The important thing to remember is that pain helps us grow and appreciate the sunny times when they come. If you need to let go and have a good cry, don’t hold back. What you’re feeling is completely understandable and natural, and may help you move past this difficult part in your life.
Reversed: The moths have moved on. The person on the swing takes a deep breath, wipes their eyes and goes back inside. You have faced the heartache. Time has passed and what’s done is done. You may be moving into a new phase of healing and recovery, supported by your community as you start to move on. Alternatively, you may be caught in a pathological grief, where your focus on this trauma may be impeding you from moving on, even after the immediate pain has subsided. The point is, the hardest part is behind you. It is up to you now on how you proceed from here.
