THE MOON

XVIII- THE MOON
On the soft leathery wings of a hundred bats, the Moon floats across the darkened landscape, her expression knowing but distant, as she illuminates the world with her pale reflection. Upright, the moon is representative of our dark subconscious. These are our fears and anxiety, the manifestation of our stress in dreams, and the potential to project these negative feelings onto the world around us. The moon is a reflection of the sun, her light is not her own, though it may seem to be. This card cautions against taking things at face value. Things are not always as they appear. Maintaining vigilance and trusting your intuition may keep you from harm.
Reversed: Reversed, the moon’s light is illuminating, and though she remains aloft, her journey across the world is more charted than it ever has been. This card suggests you have been battling the negative aspects of your unconscious and are overcoming them. Great job! You may be working through past trauma or anxiety and making great strides toward a healthier, happier future. This insight may also be of a more psychic or intuitive nature. In reverse, this card may reflect that you are entering into a more spiritually receptive phase of your life. Listen to your dreams. You may want to embrace your openness with spell or ritual work for a deeper understanding of what your heart is telling you.
