This time, I wanted to do something a little different and exclusive: quinoa IN granola bars. And yes, it’s uncooked – or rather, toasted within the oven with the oats. Therefore you obtain crunchiness and chewiness, something that most granola pubs out there absence.
The base from the granola bars are made up of quinoa, oats, peanut butter, honey, chia, vanilla and a touch of coconut oil. That’s it! I really like they are wholesome, basic and modifiable. What’s great about these pubs is that they offer over 3g of dietary fiber and almost 7g of organic protein. Of course, if you are like me, you probably will enjoy tossing in several chocolate chips or dried cranberries.
Since these bars are essentially no bake, they’ll stay chewy and fresh for long after you make them. It is possible to store them covered tightly in the refrigerator for weeks and get them whenever you’re in need of one. Enjoy! xo.

Ingredients
1 cup gluten free of charge rolled oats
1/2 cup uncooked Ancient Harvest quinoa
1/2 cup creamy all natural peanut butter (or your preferred natural nut butter)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 glass honey
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 levels F. Add oats and quinoa to a large baking sheet and pass on around equally. Once oven is definitely preheated, toast the oats and quinoa for 10 minutes. Once done toasting, put oats and quinoa right into a medium dish and stir in chia seed products.
While quinoa and oats are toasting, make the peanut butter blend by adding peanut butter, sea sodium, honey, vanilla and coconut oil in medium saucepan over low temperature. Stir once in awhile until the mix is clean and creamy. Remove from high temperature and invite to cool for a couple minutes, then enhance the bowl using the oats, quinoa and chia. Stir well to incorporate. If adding chocolate chips, wait a few momemts before stirring in, normally they’ll melt. Another option is to melt the chocolate potato chips and drizzle them over the top of bars.
Line an 8×4 or 9×5 in . loaf pan with parchment paper; pour combination in and spread out evenly, then press mixture down in the pan. Put in place refrigerator for 10-20 a few minutes or until mix has solidified. Remove pubs from pan and cut into 8 pubs. Store bars in the freezer or refrigerator. Enjoy!
Pubs are naturally gluten free if you use gluten free of charge oats.
To make bars vegan, use maple syrup or brown rice syrup rather than honey.

I love these granola pubs! I have attempted cooked quinoa in granola bars before but I have found that the granola bar is quite moist even after cooking. Toasting the quinoa seems like a great alternative!
Have you got any ideas for replacing the peanut butter? Just wondering how I could make them college friendly once we are not allowed nut products of any kind at school.
