Traveling is one of the best points you can possibly do. It creates human relationships (it’s how Tony and I met), pushes you to learn an incredible quantity about yourself, promotes you to step out of the safe place and expands your knowledge.
Within the last year, I produced a commitment to visit more. To see the world, other cultures and also to simply relax and enjoy existence. Everytime I keep coming back from a trip, I am rejuvenated, filled with ideas and a bit more ambitious. Lucky for me personally, my job allows me to travel and share my experiences with all of you!
Most recently We continued a 7-time cruise to the Eastern Caribbean with Princess Cruises I’ll possess a few posts within the next month sharing my knowledge with everyone. There were a wide variety of experiences, it becomes difficult to narrow it right down to just one post.
We left on the Sunday away from Fort Lauderdale and place sail around the bright blue ocean. This was my first-time going on a cruise ship, so I really acquired no idea what to expect.
We arrived at our rooms to find two twin beds, a shower and a beautiful balcony. I think we ate even more food than we’re able to handle as well… but I’ll demonstrate every one of the food in part 2 of this post.
First let’s get right to where we went and what we did!
Princess Kays, Bahamas
Our first end was Princess Kays in the Bahamas; we appeared the day after we left the US. The weather was outstanding and I hadn’t remember seeing water that apparent since I visited Australia this past year.
Since my mother and I both LOVE staying active on vacations, we chose to do a kayaking excursion while there.
P.S. It’s wise to do energetic excursions while on holiday, especially if you understand you’ll be eating your fair share of dessert.
The wonderful part concerning the kayak is that the bottom was actually transparent; although the water was clear, we didn’t observe any seafood. OR SHARKS.
After our day at Princess Kays, we went back and recieved massages off their beautiful Lotus Health spa You can take a 360 degree tour of their spa to obtain a sense of how gorgeous it is. I acquired a bamboo massage which is similar to deep tissue.
I am having some throat and back problems lately, therefore the massage was such a nice treat to enjoy.
We enjoyed fabulous meals every evening and had a great time having Mom & daughter time together, especially since I live in Chicago and she’s in Minneapolis.
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
We spent a day at sea and then arrived at St. Thomas; the weather was warm and the people were kind. We’d a walking, kayak and snorkel guided excursion and fulfilled our guides at the port. It was an easy process and once again, I loved feeling active and experiencing all the island’s natural splendor.
The kayaking was beautiful and smooth. The tour guides spoke about the jellyfish, the plant life, algae and specific fish we might see. The water was a pale, clear blue and I was very easily able to discover jellyfish within the lagoon.
We paddled to a separate area of the island, then left our kayaks and went for an instant hike. Through the hike, we learned all about one of the most poisonous plant life in the world and also discovered hermit crabs from the hundreds. It was amazing!
The crab ended up pinching me! That jerk.
We followed the hiking path down to a pebble rocked walkway near the sea where waves were crashing over the rocks. I literally had no idea how gorgeous St. Thomas was, however now I can realize why we stopped there. Have some of you been? Inform me!
After our hike, we snorkeled and noticed several rainbow fish, barracuda, and a lot of coral. I’m glad my Mom was able to experience the snorkeling; it was her first time and she was a trooper.
Before we got back in the ship, we grabbed lunch at Barefoot Buddha Highly recommend if you’re ever in St. Thomas!
St. Maarten
I spent your day in St. Maarten with Lee from Match Foodie Sees and her sweetheart, Blake. We were supposed to go on a catamaran but both felt like we wanted to get a feel for the island and range out a number of the food.
We stopped by a Caribbean restaurant and We ordered bruschetta and a Caribbean chopped salad with chicken. It wasn’t anything crazy delicious, but since Lee and I got both went 3 kilometers that morning hours, we needed gas in our bellies.
AND DESSERT, obviously.
Also happy about running those three miles, because I believe I finished up having dessert that night as well. I informed you.
My only regret is that We wasn’t able to spend more time at St. Maarten. The annals of the island is pretty interesting, as 1 / 2 of it’s French as well as the spouse, Dutch. I hope to return some day to check out a number of the food and tradition from both sides.
Question: Have you ever been to these locations? I’d want to hear what you do and any recommendations for others. It’s always fun to hear about delicious eats or activities!
I’ll be back again with component 2 soon and displaying you my intense body shred workout through the ship! xoxo.
Monique-
I went on that exact guided hike/snorkel/kayak experience in St. Thomas and I adored it! The guides were great and I usually tell people I’d completely recommend that in an effort to see the island!
