Traveling is among the best points you can possibly do. It creates romantic relationships (it’s how Tony and I met), pushes you to understand an incredible amount about yourself, motivates you to definitely step out of the comfort zone and expands your knowledge.
Over the past year, I produced a commitment to visit more. To start to see the world, other cultures and also to simply relax and enjoy life. Everytime I keep coming back from a vacation, I am rejuvenated, filled with ideas and a little more ambitious. Lucky for me, my job allows me to travel and talk about my encounters with all of you!
Most recently We continued a 7-day cruise towards the Eastern Caribbean with Princess Cruises I’ll possess a few posts in the next month writing my knowledge with all of you. There were a wide variety of experiences, it becomes difficult to slim it down to just one post.
We left on the Sunday away from Fort Lauderdale and place sail on the shiny blue ocean. This is my first time heading on a cruise liner, so I really got no idea what things to expect.
We attained our rooms to find two twin mattresses, a shower and a lovely balcony. I think we ate more food than we could handle too… but I’ll demonstrate all the food in part 2 of the post.
Initial let’s get right to where we went and what we did!
Princess Kays, Bahamas
Our first stop was Princess Kays within the Bahamas; we came the day after we left the US. The elements was superb and I hadn’t keep in mind seeing water that apparent since I visited Australia this past year.
Since my mom and I both LOVE staying active on vacations, we chose to do a kayaking excursion while there.
P.S. It’s a good idea to do energetic excursions while on vacation, especially if you know you’ll be eating your fair share of dessert.
The wonderful part in regards to the kayak is that underneath was actually transparent; although the water was clear, we didn’t find any fish. OR SHARKS.
After our trip to Princess Kays, we returned and recieved massages off their beautiful Lotus Spa You can have a 360 degree tour of the spa to get a sense of how gorgeous it is. I acquired a bamboo massage which is much like deep tissue.
I’ve been having some throat and back problems lately, so the massage was such a good treat to enjoy.
We enjoyed fabulous meals every evening and had a blast having Mom & daughter time together, especially since I reside in Chicago and she’s in Minneapolis.
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
We spent a trip to sea and then attained St. Thomas; the weather was warm and the people were kind. We’d a hiking, kayak and snorkel guided excursion and fulfilled our guides at the slot. It was a straightforward process and once again, I cherished feeling energetic and experiencing all of the island’s natural beauty.
The kayaking was beautiful and smooth. The guides spoke about the jellyfish, the plants, algae and certain fish we may observe. The water was a pale, apparent blue and I was very easily able to observe jellyfish in the lagoon.
We paddled to a separate area of the island, then still left our kayaks and went for a quick hike. During the hike, we learned all about perhaps one of the most poisonous vegetation on earth and also discovered hermit crabs from the hundreds. It was amazing!
The crab ended up pinching me! That jerk.
We followed the hiking path right down to a pebble rocked walkway close to the ocean where waves were crashing on the rocks. I literally got simply no idea how gorgeous St. Thomas was, however now I can realize why we stopped there. Have some of you been? Inform me!
After our hike, we snorkeled and saw a few rainbow fish, barracuda, and plenty of coral. I’m pleased my Mom could go through the snorkeling; it had been her first-time and she was a trooper.
Before we got back in the ship, we grabbed lunch at Barefoot Buddha Highly recommend if you’re ever in St. Thomas!
St. Maarten
I spent the day in St. Maarten with Lee from Suit Foodie Sees and her partner, Blake. We were supposed to go on a catamaran but both sensed like we wanted to get a feel for the island and range out a number of the food.
We stopped by way of a Caribbean cafe and I ordered bruschetta and a Caribbean chopped salad with chicken. It wasn’t anything crazy delicious, but since Lee and I had both ran 3 mls that morning, we needed energy in our bellies.
AND DESSERT, obviously.
Also happy on the subject of running those three miles, because I believe I ended up having dessert that night too. I informed you.
My just regret is that I wasn’t able to spend additional time at St. Maarten. The history of the isle is very interesting, as 1 / 2 of it’s French as well as the spouse, Dutch. I am hoping to return some day and check out some of the food and lifestyle from both sides.
Question: Perhaps you have ever been to these places? I’d love to hear what you did and any recommendations for others. It certainly is fun to hear about delicious eats or activities!
I’ll be back again with part 2 soon and displaying you my intense body shred workout in the ship! xoxo.
Monique-
I continued that exact guided hike/snorkel/kayak experience in St. Thomas and I enjoyed it! The manuals had been great and I usually tell people I would completely advise that as a way to see the island!
