OH MY GOODNESS. These pubs. No seriously, theeeeeseeeee bars.
Anyway, moving away from my day obsession and onto these ridiculously great tasting ooey-gooey bars that I created together with Peapod In the event that you remember, I’ve been developing fun quality recipes for them within the last few months because of their new site It has been wonderful to encourage others to step into the kitchen and make creatively or bake something comforting.
This time I needed to generate something unique and various that you can bring to your friends and family with delightful surprise. That would leave them speculating what were within the bars, but also leave them begging for seconds. These will surpass your expectations and then some. PROMISE.
In all seriousness, my favorite section of these bars is how wholesome they are. Now I realize they contain sugars (organic!), but the ingredients themselves are whole grain, gluten free, filled with healthy fats and packed with nutrition. In order to feel somewhat great about indulging in these this wintertime.
I mean, perhaps you have ever seen any other thing more gorgeous? Now just picture how they TASTE. Or even better, let me perform my greatest at describing the most fabulous flavor combination.
The bottom and the surface of the bars are made up of oat flour, oats, organic brown glucose, coconut oil, vanilla and just a little salt. The bars are wonderfully crunchy on underneath for a good base it doesn’t fall apart. Simply made sure you pack and press the pub base into the bottom from the pan tightly; this can ensure that the crust bakes evenly.
Next up is the filling. Made up of times and espresso natural powder (or instant espresso!); you’ll make a spread in your meal processor. Once you pass on it all on the pubs, you’ll sprinkle the very best with chocolates chunks and cover again with a number of the oat mix. That’s it!
The result is a gluten free oat bar using a thick, gooey chocolate and time filling. They’re wealthy, scrumptious and all you want this time of year.

1 cup warm water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup gluten free oats
1/2 teaspoon cooking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
3 oz your preferred dark chocolate pub (at least 70%), coarsely chopped (dairy products free/vegan, if desired)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Collection a 8×8 inches pan with parchment paper in order that you’re able to easily remove the bars after. That is essential! Grease the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray.
Prepare the filling first: Add dates, warm water, and espresso powder to some food processor or high-powered blender and mix until steady, about 2 minutes. Allow date mixture to awesome and thicken for 5 minutes while you make the bottom.

Press the remaining blend into the ready pan; you’ll need to press very difficult to make sure that all of
the blend will stick together well.
Next spread date mixture evenly on top of the base crust. Sprinkle on cut dark chocolate then sprinkle the reserved oat topping outrageous. If you want you can also sprinkle the chocolate with a little bit of coarse sea salt for the salty and sweet combo. Bake bars for 30-35 a few minutes or until best is set and slightly fantastic brownish. Transfer to cable rack to awesome for at least one hour, then remove from skillet to cool completely. Makes 16 bars. Bars are greatest kept in the fridge and are delicious when served chilled in addition to at room temperatures.
To make completely vegan: Be sure you work with a vegan chocolates bar. Theo makes a nice 85% vegan delicious chocolate bar.
To create gluten free: Use gluten totally free oat flour and gluten totally free oats.
If you’d like you may make these bars without the espresso powder, they will still be delicious and even kid-friendly!

35 dates = 8 ounces??
I’ve got about 6 or 7 entire schedules in a cup now and that equals 8 oz .. What am I missing? So how exactly does 35 schedules equal 8 ounces? Do you mean already blended or whole dates??
