I have several foods that I’ve fond memories of. They continue being my favorites throughout the years.
This got me thinking… why is food memorable? It is simply the flavor of it? Or even more of what we associate with this food experiences?
Every time I’ve hot chocolate I’m taken back to when I used to ice skate with my girlfriends. We’d get a glass of wealthy creamy popular cocoa with extreme jumbo marshmallows, dairy, and everything that fitness periodicals say we shouldn’t possess.
When I wish to enjoy things like that, I remind myself that I’m just living life. You know, enjoying those basic moments filled up with laughter, good food and a friendly relationship. In fact, those occasions are building remembrances. So damn best, I’m having that hot chocolate!
Often times I actually wonder why I find pumpkin pie to become the best dessert on the planet. I mean, it’s so simple! But eating pumpkin pie reminds me of the very first time I made a pie by all by myself. THE WAY I crafted the crust with such perseverance. In that extremely moment, I used to be discovering my interest and creativeness for cooking. So really it isn’t the dessert itself, it’s the memories that come with each bite.
Right now it’s my spirit food; it feeds me happiness in the form of good memories.
To date, among my favorite meals was scallops with spaghetti squash, roasted crimson peppers, with this incredible creamy sauce. It had been completed with a chocolate soufflé and rich chocolate snow cream. Which of course I devoured. I think it’s memorable if you ask me specifically due to the person I was with.
Period spent with good people can make food special. This I know to be accurate. Consider about a few of your favorite foods. Or the best meal you’ve ever endured. It was most likely more of an event and memory rather just based on taste alone.
Okay and something last food memory space of mine… I must confess which i absolutely adore breads. Oh my goodness, in any shape or form.
It’s simply heavenly.
During the holidays I used to live for my Grandmother’s buttery croissants. I can still keep in mind the taste of these and exactly how they used to simply melt in my mouth. Nowadays I try to eat bread less, but I still don’t think I could live without a cut (with creamy whipped butter… omg!).
Sometimes I actually get serious yearnings for a slice french bread. It’s my favorite and I love dipping it in marinara sauce, making garlic bread for the side, as well as French loaf of bread pizzas! I would have critical withdrawals if I ever stopped eating it. Contact me the carb queen. Whatever!
I must tell you that roasted grapes, creamy brie cheese, and honey is one of the most delicious mixtures which could ever be placed on bread. I have no idea why I haven’t roasted grapes before, but they are lovely and perfect atlanta divorce attorneys method. This is a seriously delicious appetizer (or snack!) that you won’t forget any time in the future.
Roasted Grape & Brie Crostini with Honey + Ocean Salt
2 cups seedless crimson grapes
2 teaspoons essential olive oil, divided
1 wholegrain demi french baguette found at Trader Joe’s or around 1/2 a loaf of french baguette, sliced in two, lengthwise
4-6 ounces of brie mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
Honey, for drizzling
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place grapes on a nonstick cooking sheet and drizzle with 1 teaspoon of essential olive oil. Toss to coat grapes equally and roast for approximately 15 minutes or until grapes commence to look like they could burst and shrivel a bit. Set grapes apart to cool. Keep oven temperature.
Place loaf of bread on separate baking sheet and brush each half with remaining 1 teaspoon of essential olive oil. Best each with brie parmesan cheese pieces and bake for 10 minutes. Change oven to broil and broil for 30-45 mere seconds until cheese melts and bubbles. Add grapes on top of cheese and drizzle honey around. Sprinkle with a little bit of sea sodium. Cut bread into wedges and provide.
Feel absolve to twin or triple the recipe if you’re making for more than 4 people.
